Spied: Hyundai i30 Fastback receives N performance power

Hyundai i30 N Fastback spied for the first time

Currently, there are only two models that make up Hyundai's N performance line up, the i30 N and the more recently revealed Veloster N. However recent reports have been ciruclating that Korean automaker plans to add more models to their line-up, such as the Tucson. Now, it seems as though the i30 Fastback will also be receiving the N treatment as seen in this batch of spy photos.

As expected, the i30 N Fastback is still heavily covered in camouflage with lots of black cloth covering its design. Despite that, we already have an idea as to what the final styling would look like. Expect it to have a sportier front bumper coupled with larger air intakes, similarly designed to that on the i30 N Hatchback. Given the camouflage on the hood, Hyundai could have also added more air vents as well.

Moving along the side, larger wheels have been fitted which hide the larger brakes. At the rear, one is met with more camouflage, hiding the differences between the performance hatchback and fastback. However it can be seen that the twin exit exhaust pipes from the i30 N has been carried over. A rear spoiler also appears to be hidden in the camo.

Under the hood, expect the same powertrain and running gear such as the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder to be carried over from the i30 N Hatchback. Power output in standard guise is expected to remain the same at 247 PS or 271 PS with the optional Performance Pack. A 6-speed manual transmission will then send power to the front wheels.

For now are no details as to when the i30 N Fastback is expected to debut.
