A new powerful 'Jag' could soon prowl the open road after our insiders were able to take photos of what appeared to be a high performance version of the Jaguar F-Pace.

While the automaker already has the 380 PS F-Pace S, Jaguar plans to make an even more powerful crossover that can rival the other stalwarts like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and BMW X5 M. Supposedly called the Jaguar SVR, it will apparently be powered by a highly-tuned V6 or a fire-breathing V8 derived from F-Type SVR.

Spied: Jaguar developing more powerful F-Pace SVR

Jaguar may have done their best to cover up the new exterior components of the F-Type SVR, but our insiders were able to notice the new add-ons in the hot crossover. For starters, it gets a new front bumper with bigger side air intakes which greatly differ from the standard and S models. Larger alloy wheels with low-profile tires also make their way in the F-Pace SVR.

Around the back, everything appears normal but one can notice that Jaguar fitted this prototype with a new rear bumper. Housed within that new bumper are large quad exhaust pipes which could be a unique feature only for this SVR-spec crossover. Our spies even noted that this particular F-Pace made a lot of noise on the road, further denoting that it could be a new, more powerful model altogether.

All that we know is that the new F-Pace could produce well over 500 PS, and perhaps reach all the way to 575 PS.
