Spied: Jaguar E-Pace spotted doing rounds at The Ring

Jaguar conducting tests on E-Pace crossover at the Nurburgring

Several months ago, our spies identified Jaguar's all-new crossover, the E-Pace. It will slot below the bigger F-Pace and is set to compete against the likes of the Audi Q3 and BMW X1. Now, it seems Jaguar is busy testing out the performance of the E-Pace as our insiders recently spotted the automaker's latest feline at the Nurburgring.

The prototype E-Pace still bears heavy camouflage and it appears not much has changed on the new crossover. Design-wise, the E-Pace gets most of its styling cues from its bigger sibling, the F-Pace. The front fascia still the sleek headlights as well as what appear to be a clamshell hood.

What's different on this particular E-Pace, however is that it gets a new set of alloy wheels. We're not sure if this will make it in the final design but they do look good on the upcoming E-Pace. Around the back, the thin taillights, dual exhaust pipes and what look to be a large spoiler are present at the rear.

From the looks of things, it seems Jaguar is prioritizing the crossover's performance first before its final style.

It is expected that the E-Pace will be available with a line of 2.0-liter Ingenium four-cylinder turbo engines that can come in either gasoline or diesel. A full electric version could also make its way in the final product lineup.

Rumors are going around that Jaguar could officially reveal the all-new E-Pace sometime in mid 2017.
