Facelifted Kia Sportage seen testing for the first time
Kia first introduced the fourth generation Sportage onto the market back in 2016. Despite being on sale for only a little over 2 years, it seems as though the Korean automaker is already preparing to introduce a facelifted version soon. This comes after our spies managed to spot what appeared to be updated Sportage undergoing tests in the streets of Europe.
From the photos, we can see that both the front and rear fascia of the Kia Sportage will have some revisions made. Judging from the amount of camouflage on the test mule, it is likely that it will bring about some major changes rather than the usual nip and tuck found on most facelifted vehicles.
Up front, we can see that the Sportage will sport reshaped headlights with new LED design elements. Though it is covered in camouflage, expect the front bumper to also go under the knife and sport a different design. Furthermore, the side air intakes and fog light housing have also been change as well.
While the side profile remains mostly unchanged, expect the facelifted Sportage to feature a new wheel design. Moving to the rear, we are met with more camouflage. The taillights have been redesigned will have and features new LED graphics. Despite the new design, it is likely the full-width red bar which connects the taillights will be retained. Much like the front bumper, expect the rear bumper to be revised as well.
Expect the interior to remain mostly the same save for a few subtle updates such as the infotainment system. No details yet as to whether upgrades or changes have been made to the engine, but do expect the current lineup to remain the same.
