Building on their lineup of Volvo-based vehicles, Geely's new brand Lynk & Co now begins testing of their new sedan platform, the 03. First seen as a concept car at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show, this camouflaged test mule looks as if it didn't change much from the concept model shown last year.
The exterior of the 03 sports rather curious styling. The front fascia is somewhat similar to the Porsche Panamera with a hint of Fisker Karma thanks to the long oblong grill underneath the lights. This look may be a signature of the brand, as the first 01 SUV sports similar styling as well. The rear end on the other hand has a light array that looks like it took inspiration off a Jaguar XE.
Powertrain options come in the form of three or four cylinder motors, with a plug-in hybrid option available as well. The latter could well be equipped with front electric motors paired with a three-cylinder motor.
As for its chassis, the Lynk & Co 03 shares the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform with Volvo. That said, the 03 in particular may share its bone structure with the current-gen Volvo V40.
Lynk & Co. will be building their vehicles from China but plan to sell them globally. They've set a goal of selling 500,000 vehicles over the next 5 years.
