Geely's luxury brand is keeping itself busy it seems despite the cold winter conditions. Recently spotted by our spies out in the snow is Lynk & Co's latest automobile, a five-door hatchback.
Apparently called the 04, the prototype hatchback will serve as Lynk & Co's C-segment hatchback fighter and could go toe-to-toe with the likes of the Volkswagen Golf, Hyundai i30, Ford Focus and Honda Civic Hatchback among others.
Judging from the images sent by our spies, the heavily camouflaged 04 will get similar styling cues from the 01 and 03 models. Up front, it appears the hatchback will get the same six-light arrangement from its siblings. The top portion of the front fascia could comes with LED daytime running lights. Meanwhile, the bottom section features the signature grill that incorporates the headlights.
Towards the back, the 04 appears to have modified taillights borrowed from the 03 sedan concept. Also worth mentioning on the camouflaged prototype are the large exhaust pipes at the back which could indicate this is a high-performance model. As its exact engine has yet to be revealed, our best guess is that it's a turbocharged four-cylinder derived from Volvo.
Speaking of Volvo, the Lynk & Co 04 could become the basis of the next-generation V40. Since the company has already released the XC40, the V40 could be the next model to receive an all-new makeover. However, Volvo has also yet to release the next-generation S40 though our insiders think the 03 sedan concept could be a sign of things to come.
Expect both the 04 and all-new V40 to make their world debuts either some time this year, or in early 2019.
