New EVA platform set to become core of Mercedes EV lineup
Among several manufacturer vehicles conducting winter tests out in Sweden, it appears there's one odd Mercedes out there humming along without any use of petrol.
It turns out this Mercedes GLC test mule is a full disguise for Mercedes' upcoming EVA platform for all its upcoming electric vehicles. The EVA platform will supposedly be a modular platform that’s set to adapt several sizes and types of Mercedes vehicles that will run on electricity. From the looks of it, the EVA platform is set to make its debut on a couple SUV models before being released as a sedan.
The lineup that will house the EVA platform will likely be called the ‘EQ’ family of vehicles. You could say that this will be Mercedes’ answer to the i-family of BMW.
Expect more mules to show up throughout the year, with more full-body prototypes likely to surface sometime towards the end of 2017.
