With Mercedes Benz recently releasing the updated S-Class sedan, it’s no surprise that the rest of the range will soon follow suit. As updates trickle down to the standard coupe and cabriolet versions of the S-Class, spies have identified the AMG version of the S-Class out testing in cabrio form.

Spied: Mercedes S63 AMG Cabriolet to follow updated S-Class lineup

From the looks of it, our spies appear to have spotted the S63 AMG version of the cabrio. Given that it’s only wearing camouflage on its front fascia, we may likely see significant changes to it once the vehicle hits production. The test mule has also been seen wearing the AMG “Panamericana” grille which is becoming a signature with Mercedes’ high-performance models from Affalterbach. On the rear end the tail lights may likely get a mild tweak, with the rear fascia looking to have a revised lower area.

Power may likely come from a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8, replacing the 5.5L twin turbo V8 out of the current model. If they’re to lift the motor out of the AMG GT R, we’ll likely see the S63 push 577PS with 516Nm of torque.

The updated S-Class sedan goes on sale sometime late 2017 as 2018 models, with the 2-door versions likely seeing showroom floors in 2018.
