During the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, Kia unveiled an E-Segment concept called the GT. Back in 2013, we reported that the big rear wheel drive sedan has been greenlit for production. It appears that Kia has delivered as these spy shots confirm previous reports.
Internally known as the CK, it will likely be riding on a shorter version of the platform made for the Genesis G80 and G90 sedans. While an official name has yet to be confirmed for Kia's E-Segment entry, it may possibly be called the Stinger. Interestingly, the name Stinger has been used for Kia's planned rear wheel drive sports coupe.
At the moment, the car is still heavily camouflaged but expect styling cues from both the GT Concept and Novo Concept. The roofline suggests a coupe-like body and the doors are similar to those seen in the Optima with its reverse kink.
As for engines, reports suggest the 3.3 liter twin-turbo V6 will power the E-Segment Kia. It delivers 365 PS and is the same engine featured in the Genesis G80 and G90.
