Camouflaged Suzuki Vitara refresh spotted
The fourth-generation Suzuki Vitara (released as a 2015 model year) has been in the market for 2 years and is already ripe for a mid-cycle facelift. Our spies recently came upon a heavily camouflaged Vitara which could indicate the automaker is definitely working on one.
Based on the photos, it looks like Suzuki is focusing on changing the crossover's front fascia. Both the grill and front bumper are heavily camouflaged which could mean Suzuki is planning to spice both portions of the crossover. By the looks of it, it appears the facelift will have a mesh grill design instead of the slatted design on the current model.
No apparent changes on the rear section of the Vitara facelift can be seen but it looks like the automaker made some minor changes on the car's rear bumper and tailgate. Also, this particular Vitara is missing the chrome accents on the lower section of the doors though this could just be a specific model that doesn't carry it.
Apart from the mild exterior updates, our spies also speculated that the refreshed Vitara will receive new safety features, as well as updated in-car amenities and tech. The interior design could also get a minor revision too.
Currently, the Vitara is available with two 1.6-liter engines, the gasoline-powered M16 and the diesel-driven D16AA. The former puts out 120 PS with 156 Nm of torque while the latter puts out 120 PS with 320 Nm of torque. Available transmissions include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Front-wheel-drive is available, as well as the ALLGRIP all-wheel-drive system.
