Spied: Toyota Supra shows production headlights, taillights

Toyota Supra undergoes testing, fitted with production LED lights

It seems as though Toyota is not yet ready to reveal the next-generation Supra as it did not make its debut at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show. Instead, the Japanese automaker is hard at work continuing with road tests on the upcoming Supra as seen in this latest set of spy pics. Also seen here are the Supra's production LED headlights and taillights.

A few months back, our spies were already able to snap photos of the Supra already wearing its production LED projector headlights. The prototype seen here is once again sporting the same headlights but are turned on. Unsurprisingly, most of the front fascia is still claded with false panels and camouflage in order to hide the Supra's final design.

An up-close photo of the headlights shows that it will feature three stacked LED projectors. There is also a strip that runs the lower part of the housing for what is likely an LED day time running light. Apart from the turn signal at the end, most of the headlight is still covered in camo.

Moving to the rear however, we do get a look of the Supra's LED taillights. The exposed LEDs form illuminated triangles with a strip running towards the center of the vehicle. Without the camouflage, it is possible that the lights run the length of the Supra's rear end. The rest of the Supra prototype seen here appears to look the same as before, still heavily camouflaged.

Apart from the production lights, our spies also mention that the Supra could instead be branded under Gazoo Racing, Toyota's motorsport division instead of simply being under Toyota. If confirmed, this would place it as the performance brand's flagship model.
