Spied: Volkswagen spices up the design of next-gen CC
New-generation Volkswagen CC dons a sleeker, more aggressive exterior

It appears the designers over at Volkswagen opted for a more aggressive-looking midsize sedan after our spies managed to snap some photos of the next-generation CC.

Even with the heavy camouflage, the new Volkswagen CC looks fiercer thanks to the reworked front fascia. The headlights appear sleeker while the air intake gets a rework as well.

The rear section does not reveal much but the new-generation CC does get new exhaust pipes that exit through the bumper, along with what looks to be restyled taillights and a thicker C-pillar.
As it is essentially a sleeker-looking Passat, the new-generation CC is expected to be driven by the familiar engines found from the D-segment sedan. These include the 1.4-, 1.8- and 2.0-liter TSI engines, a 2.0-liter TDI and the top-of-the-range 3.6-liter FSI V6.

The TSI and TDI models can be mated to either a manual or dual-clutch gearbox, while the FSI V6 is exclusively paired to an automatic transmission.
There is no word yet as to when Volkswagen will reveal the next-generation CC.
