There's no doubt that Spoon Sports parts will always fetch a premium with Honda enthusiasts across the globe. Just take a look at the now-discontinued Spoon Civic EK cluster; it can easily cost as much as a fresh Civic SiR in the Philippines. What more if it was signed by Tatsuru Ichishima-san himself? Prices have literally gone mad; blame it on JDM "tax".
With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it seems that Spoon Sports wants to keep its customers and loyal fans safe as well. Similar to Japanese seat makers Bride, the Honda-specialty tuner has recently released a face mask.
At the moment, there are no details regarding the Spoon Sports facemask just yet. In fact, they only posted a single photo on their official Facebook page without any caption apart from the hashtags “#mask”, “#maskcover”, and “#spoonsports”.
Based on the photo, the facemask appears to use a multi-layer structure and is likely washable. This will then allow users to use it repeatedly, saving them money from repeatedly buying new masks. Apart from the Tsuru logo at the bottom right, it looks like any other white reusable face mask.
While we're on the subject of money, no official price has been announced for the Spoon Sports facemask just yet. Considering the hype of Spoon parts around the world, expect resellers to get their hands on the facemasks and jack up prices.
So if you happen to be a collector of all things Spoon, best to add their new facemask to your collection. Who knows, it might cost ten times more expensive in the future once it gets discontinued.
