Facelift Nissan Terra seen on Philippine roads

Don't try to adjust your screens. You are looking at the refreshed Nissan Terra, and it's already here in the Philippines. Following its global debut in the Middle East late last year (as the Xterra), the Terra will soon make its official debut in the country very soon.

Note, we said "very soon" because Nissan Philippines Inc (NPI) has yet to officially launch the new look Terra. There's no official teaser or announcement yet, either. But it appears that they are already busy testing it on local roads. Thanks to a keen-eyed viewer, we were able to get a closer look at the updated midsize SUV.

Much like the Xterra first revealed late last year, the refreshed PH-spec Terra features similar styling cues. Since this is the top-of-the-line 4x4 VL, it gets Nissan's new quad LED headlights, restyled LED daytime running lights, the bolder V-Motion front grille, new foglight bezels, integrated skid plates, new LED taillights, and an updated tailgate design with extra chrome trim.

The 4x4 version also gets a new set of alloy wheels, a bigger tailgate-mounted spoiler, side steps, and fender vents.

We're also happy to report that the refreshed Terra for the Philippines will have a redesigned cabin. With that, it will no longer share the same interior as the Navara pick-up truck. It gets a unique leather-padded dashboard, distinct aircon vents, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a new automatic climate control panel, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a redesigned center console/gear selector.

Details about the updated Terra's powertrain are not yet available. But just like the Navara, the YD25DDTi 2.5-liter turbo-diesel with 190 PS with 450 Nm of torque will likely be carried over. Transmission options for the updated Terra could be either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic.

With the Terra already in the country without any camouflage, does this mean we'll be the first market in Southeast Asia to get the facelifted Terra? Remember, Nissan Thailand will reportedly launch the SUV on August 19, which is still two weeks from now.
