2018 Ssangyong Tivoli, Tivoli XLV gets new features, upgrades in latest update
Ssangyong Berjaya Motor Philippines (SBMP) has just introduced a new variant of the Tivoli B-segment crossover for 2018. Featuring a sleeker design along with new standard features, the new additions in the Tivoli lineup is poised to give Ssangyong's stylish crossover more edge edge in the lucrative B-segment scene.
“We are proud to announce the new for 2018 lineup of SsangYong vehicles. It makes us happy to be able to bring to the public such a range of stylish, yet practical, vehicles which complement not only their active lifestyles but also the reality of daily living. SsangYong vehicles represent the wise choice among the myriad of offerings from our competitors,” said David Macasadia, Managing Director of SBMP.
Starting with the Tivoli Premium Sport, the latest variant to join the B-segment crossover receives a mildly tweaked exterior, as well as new in-car amenities. A cleaner, more unified front bumper graces the front fascia of the Tivoli Premium Sport along with a bolder foglight design. Meanwhile, the 18-inch alloy wheels feature a bright silver finish which Ssangyong claims brings out the sportiness of the Tivoli even more.
Inside, the Tivoli Premium Sport now comes with new brown leather upholstery for the seats. But perhaps the most important addition in the new top-of-the-line Tivoli is the all-new heating and cooling function for the front seats. This gives both the driver and front passenger to have a more comfortable ride in both hot and cold weather.
Under the hood remains the familiar 1.6-liter eXgi160 powertrain. It produces 128 PS at 6000 rpm along with 160 Nm of torque at 2800 rpm. Power is then routed to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual select.
The 2018 Tivoli Premium Sport retails for Php 1,160,000.
Also receiving minor upgrades is the more spacious Tivoli XLV 4x2. It still comes with the stylish exterior design and e-XDi 160 turbo-diesel powertrain. However, Ssangyong did improve its in-cabin ergonomics for 2018.
According to the automaker, the 2018 Tivoli XLV 4x2 now comes with media control buttons on steering wheel. This allows for easier manipulation of the infotainment system without needing to take your eyes off the road. Features like the automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment, multi-info display and selective driving modes still come as standard on the Tivoli XLV 4x2.
As mentioned earlier, the Tivoli XLV is powered by a 1.6-liter CRDi turbo-diesel inline-four. The engine produces 115 PS at 3400 – 4000 rpm along with a healthy 300 Nm of torque at 1500 – 2500 rpm. A six-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels for the XLV 4x2.
Pricing for the 2018 Tivoli XLV starts at Php 1,180,000.
