Entry-level Suzuki Dzire to have a starting price of less than Php 640,000
It appears that Suzuki is set to launch the 2018 Dzire soon as the company has released the starting price of the all-new sedan... sort of.
Suzuki Philippines have updated their Facebook page with a photo that announces that the Dzire, the sedan derivative of the Swift, will start at PhP 638,000. With that price for the base GL variant, Suzuki is looking to directly challenge the base variants of the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 and Toyota Vios. The Dzire is also expected to compete against the recently-launched Volkswagen Santana which retails for Php 686,000.
Suzuki Philippines, however, has yet to release the official retail price of the top-spec GL+ which comes with the Auto Gear Shift (AGS) automated-manual transmission. We estimate that it will be priced somewhere around the Php 700,000 mark.
In review, the all-new Suzuki Dzire was first previewed during the 2018 Manila International Auto Show. It features a bolder-looking exterior that is borrowed from the new-generation Swift and comes in a more practical package. Unlike the previous generation, the all-new Dzire now has its own front grill and has a more rounded design overall. It measaures 3995mm long, 1735mm wide and 1515mm tall. Wheelbase comes in at 2450mm.
Depending on the model chosen, the 2018 Dzire can come with either a 7-inch touchscreen display or a 2-DIN sound system. Moreover, it can even be specified with navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.
Powering the Dzire is a 1.2-liter K12M four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing (VVT). It produces 82 PS at 6000 rpm along with 113 Nm of torque at 4200 rpm. Entry-level models come with a five-speed manual while higher-grade models come with the five-speed AGS automated-manual transmission.
Expect the all-new Suzuki Dzire to make its official launch some time in June.
