Many have been keeping a keen eye on Subaru lately after a wave of new models and concepts that showcase the future for the brand.
Well, over at the Los Angeles Auto Show, part of their future is becoming reality as the brand known for rallying has just revealed the new BRZ Concept STI, a high-performance concept based on the upcoming BRZ rear-wheel-drive sports coupe.
The BRZ is one of the models currently being developed in conjunction with Toyota (the FT-86), and already Subaru has allowed their high-performance arm, STI, a hand at making a concept car to reflect their plans for a range-topping model.
On the outside, the BRZ Concept STI sports several of Subaru Technica International's touches, with an STI front spoiler, rear wing, fender flares, a rear diffuser, twin tailpipes, and a carbon fiber roof.
The BRZ is a rear wheel drive sports car, making full use of Subaru's range of technologies, including a 2.0-liter boxer engine with direct injection that has been developed specifically for the BRZ. The engine sits low on the ground (a trait of boxer engines) for a lower center of gravity, improved handling characteristics and has a set of Brembo brakes for improved braking performance.
