Motorists will soon be able to get to their destinations faster than ever when traveling along SLEX and Skyway. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently announced that the Sucat-Alabang Skyway Extension opens by Q2 of 2021.
In an inspection held last March 10, 2021, DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said that the 3.9-kilometer Sucat-Alabang Skyway Extension is already 61% complete. Once open to the public, it will help motorists from the south access the elevated expressway faster and easier.
“With 61% of the project already complete, travel time from the Skyway mainline toll plaza in Sucat, Paranaque to Susana Heights in SLEX will soon be reduced by around 50%, greatly easing the traffic situation for those who are going home to the provinces,” said Villar.
The DPWH added that the project also involves the widening of the Skyway Alabang Toll Plaza. That way, it will be able to accommodate more vehicles from both northbound and southbound directions.
“We are targeting completion of the northbound segment second quarter of this year while the southbound segment is being fast-tracked for delivery in September as part of our goal,” added Villar.
With the new Skyway extension set for completion, the elevated toll road will be more accessible to motorists that need to get to their destinations quicker.
