Last month, Suzuki released a teaser photo of what appears to be a stylish electric SUV Coupe. At the time, there was barely any information about the model apart from its name and being full electric. With the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo now in full swing, we finally get to see the Futuro-e concept, and it's probably the most futuristic-looking Suzuki to date.
What makes the Futuro-e concept unique is the body style; it is unlike any Suzuki model ever built before. Specifically, the concept is an SUV Coupe which features a low roofline that dips aggressively towards the rear. For those wondering, this body style is often seen in European marques such as Porsche, Volkswagen, and the like.
The Futuro-e has a very minimalist style. The front fascia is dominated by a slim, LED headlight that runs the width of the vehicle. As it is an EV, there are no large vents in the bumper except for two slim slats below the headlight. Moving along the side, there are black fender cladding which gives the concept a more rugged look. Meanwhile, the rear gets its own lightbar similar to the front. However, it has an element that extends down to the fenders, giving it a unique shape.
Inside, the Futuro-e is very, well, futuristic. Front and center is a big screen that dominates most of the dashboard. Gone is the traditional steering wheel and in its place is a uniquely shaped unit. A digital center console runs the length of the cabin.
No details regarding powertrain were revealed about the Futuro-e. All Suzuki will say is that it is an electric vehicle.
As cool as the Futuro-e is, Suzuki did not mention whether or not a production model will spawn in the future. For now, they are only saying that the concept previews the brand's future design language for the EV crossover segment.
