Suzuki Philippines announced that the company posted a 52-percent year-over-year sales growth in 2015, achieving its highest record sales of 10,000 units.
Shuzo Hoshikura, General Manager for Automobile, Suzuki Philippines says, “Suzuki Philippines is certainly proud of the record-breaking growth and increase of its market share in the highly competitive automobile industry.”
The company said that the seven-seater compact MPV Ertiga has been the best-selling Suzuki vehicle, pitching in 30-percent of the total 2015 sales figures of the brand. On the other hand, 46-percent of Suzuki's total 2015 sales were contributed by the subcompact and mini subcompact category comprised of the Swift 1.2, the Celerio and the Alto.
“We are positive that our outlook for the full year 2016 sales will greatly surpass the 2015 levels. This will start with the upcoming launch of the all-new 1.4L Suzuki sedan, Ciaz,” Hoshikura added.
Aside from the positive 2015 sales performance, Suzuki Philippines inaugurated a total of 10 new dealerships last year. Suzuki Auto Pasig, Suzuki Auto East Avenue, Suzuki Auto Sucat, Suzuki Auto Isabela and Suzuki Auto Naga are the latest addition to its 3S dealerships.
To increase visibility in key areas where the target customers are, Suzuki also opened five satellite showrooms, in Chinatown, Legazpi, SM San Mateo, SM Masinag and SM Taytay. The Philippine auto subsidiary likewise broke ground for two service and sales facilities at Sta. Rosa and Biñan, Laguna.
