Subaru's performance subgroup, STI Sport, will soon be unveiling four cars to get the a host of performance upgrades for the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon. The four cars receiving STI goodies are the Levorg, WRX, BRZ and Japan's most recent Car of the Year winner, the Impreza.
At the moment, Subaru has only revealed details for the BRZ STI Sport Concept. The BRZ STI Sport concept will feature exclusive interior and exterior upgrades from the production models. The concept BRZ is based on the current GT model which features unique suspension settings plus strut tower bracing, transmission cross members and rear wheel housings for added rigidity. For the BRZ STI Sport Concept, it also gains Brembo brakes, 18-inch wheels exclusive to the STI Sport Concept and bespoke front bumper.
As for the WRX STI Sport Concept, Subaru has yet to mention the upgrades done to the sport sedan. The automaker did say that it too will get exclusive exterior and interior detailing similar to those in the BRZ STI Sport Concept. Meanwhile, the Levorg STI and the newly introduced Impreza gain more STI performance parts. These models will employ STI’s unique flexible parts such as a tower bar, which promises to deliver better stability and enhanced driving dynamics without compromising ride comfort.
Besides the higher performance road cars, Subaru will also be displaying four race cars for their Tokyo Auto Salon booth. These are the Subaru BRZ GT300, WRX STI NBR Challenge, a WRX STI in Japan Rally Championship spec and a CG Racing Robot BRZ.
Tokyo Auto Salon 2017 opens on January 13, 2017 and ends on January 15, 2017.
