Frequently cross the old Tejero Bridge in Cavite? Better find an alternate route. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently closed the said bridge for repair works.
Officially closed to the public last October 11, 2020, the middle section of the Tejero Bridge is set to undergo a long-overdue rehabilitation works. The bridge will remain closed to the public until further notice as the DPWH prepares for rehabilitation works to begin.
But with the bridge itself located at the busy Antero Soriano Highway in Tanza, Cavite, heavy traffic is expected to build-up caused by the bottleneck at the intersection in Tejero. In addition, motorists that live in the towns of Naic, Tanza, Rosario, Noveleta, and General Trias are advised to take alternate routes through the inner roads of Imus and General Trias.
The closure of the Tejero Bridge also means that those that plan to go to Kaybiang Tunnel via the aforementioned bridge will have to take a different route and other parts of Cavite.
With no exact date as to when rehabilitation works on the Tejero Bridge will be completed, motorists are advised to plan future trips or postpone them to a different date until the traffic situation in the area improves.
