Tesla's entry-level electric car will soon be revealed to the world after the company posted a teaser image of the Model 3 on their official Twitter account.
Based on the image provided, the silhouette of the upcoming sedan somehow bears a striking resemblance to the Model S. However, the Model 3 will be slightly shorter in terms of height compared to the bigger Model S.
Set to be the most affordable sedan in the Tesla lineup, the Model 3 was first detailed by the company's Chief Technical Officer (CTO) JB Straubel last June 2015. The Model 3 will not just be a single car but will instead be an array of vehicles that will be underpinned by a single platform. There will be crossover variants available too added Straubel.
Moreover, Tesla CEO Elon Musk also stated that it will have a 322 km range and will be priced at around $ 32,000.
To date, Tesla's most successful car is the Model S which competes against the likes of the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The company now also sells the Model X, their first-ever luxury 'e-SUV' that features the distinct Falcon Wing rear doors and an electric motor that puts out 509 PS.
