Tesla has announced that the Model X would finally be launched next month. This was confirmed by the company's CEO Elon Musk through a letter to its shareholders.
Musk said that Tesla is currently preparing for the launch of the Model X as the company is doing “final engineering and testing work.” As a review, the production of Tesla's first SUV model has been pushed back a number of times. The vehicle debuted last 2012 and Tesla Motors claims that they have received a lot of reservations for the Model X. However, the company hasn't made any deliveries since then.
In terms of the design, Tesla said the Model X is designed to combine the “space and functionality” of a sports utility vehicle. It has “falcon wing” doors that folds up, allowing easy access to the third row seat.
As previously reported, the Model X will either have a 60 kWh or 85 kWh electric motor and have a dual motor all-wheel drive system.
