Mercedes-AMG released the fifth Black Series model from its line-up: the 2014 SLS AMG Black Series. The car takes its inspiration from the SLS AMG GT3 race car, and features design and construction in line with the AMG Lightweight Performance Strategy. The SLS AMG GT3 race car, from which the SLS Black Series is based, was developed in accordance with the FIA GT3 rules, and has become a serious contender among super sports cars.
The SLS Black Series is powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine that packs over 630 PS and 634 Nm under its hood. Its output makes it the most powerful AMG high-performance car with a combustion engine for now. It comes second to the SLS AMG Electric Drive capable of 750 PS. The car can hit 60 mph (97 km/h) from a standstill in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 315 km/h.
Its performance is further enhanced with other AMG parts such as: the AMG Adaptive Performance Coil-over Suspension; AMG high-performance ceramic two-piece brake system; weight-optimized, forged light-alloy wheels with new sport tires; AMG rear-axle differential lock, AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission.
Aside from the standard parts of the SLS Black Series, buyers can opt to avail of the AMG carbon fiber exterior mirror, AMG carbon fiber engine cover, and the AMG interior carbon fiber package.
