Despite the challenges this year, Suzuki Auto Philippines is making up for lost time (and sales) from 2020. Their performance this year has been on the upswing, and the Japanese automaker is optimistic that there is nowhere to go but up.
But which Suzuki model has helped them the most during these trying times? Before we get to that, how many cars did they sell during the first four months of 2021? According to their figures, they shifted 6,390 units, much higher than their year-to-date sales from last year. For reference, they sold 3,879 units from January 2020 to April 2020. That means they sold 2,511 units more this year, representing a 65 percent increase.
“Despite the challenging situation, this continuous achievement that Suzuki has been reaping now is a testament of how we remain relentless in our goal to provide quality driving experience to the market. We will continue to thrive and reinforce our commitment to show more people what the Suzuki Way of Life is all about,” said SPH vice president and General Manager for Automobile Division, Keiichi Suzuki.
The three sales drivers of Suzuki Auto Philippines in 2021 are the Ertiga, the S-Presso, and the Carry. Per Suzuki, the combined sales of these models comprised 61% of their total sales tally. Among these best-sellers, it was the Ertiga that posted the most sales with 1,544 units sold. In second place is the S-Presso with 1,204 of these finding new homes. Meanwhile, the Carry comes in third with 1,177 sold. These figures are based on the company's first-quarter results.
So there you have it, the results of Suzuki Auto Philippines' sales drive so far. If you were one of those who bought an Ertiga, an S-Presso, or a Carry this year, you helped the company recover from last year. As a result, they landed in the top three top-selling automakers in the country for April and maintained their top-five spot in the local sales race. With monthly promos and deals to lure more buyers, Suzuki is aiming even higher this year.
