Iseway Motors Philippines formally turns over the distributorship of Chery vehicles to a new distributor, Chery Motors Philippines, Inc (CMPI) starting January 15, 2010 even as the new company is finalizing its legal personality in the country. CMPI will distribute Chery vehicles and parts, as well as handle sales and after-sales to service some 2,000 Chery owners all over the country, as well as manage the company's future assembly operations.
In a statement released by CMPI Chief Executive Officer Dr. Si Chung Chang the new distributorship is already moving into some aspects of Iseway business including the take over of the main distributorship business, implementation of dealer standards, improvement of parts warehousing and stocking and the turnover of the distributorship contracts.
"We have in fact, already signed an exclusive distributorship agreement with Chery International," Dr Chang pointed out. Chery International is Chery Automobile Company, Ltd. of China's overseas sales and marketing division with over 70 countries under its care.
The new distributorship agreement was signed only last January 7, 2011 at Chery International's headquarters in the province of Anhui in China. The new organization has moved to its' new corporate headquarters in Las Pinas City, to be closer to Sta. Rosa, Laguna where it is setting up its assembly plant. The new office also houses the company's technical training and service area, a parts warehouse and is currently building a new, state-of-the-art pre-delivery inspection (PDI) facility.
