All over the world, the prices of air-cooled Porsches have continuously skyrocketed ever since a few years back, and are slowly becoming more and more unobtainable. Thankfully, you can now add a 1974 Porsche 911 Turbo to your collection for around Php 800. It’s not a full-scale model per se, but instead, it is a Lego version of the classic 930 Turbo.
Lego recently announced that the 1974 Porsche 911 Turbo or more popularly known as the ‘930’ will be the latest addition to their lineup Speed Champions kit. Unlike the Technic lineup, which can take months to build, the Speed Champions kits far easier to assemble and not to mention more affordable. In fact, the Lego 930 kit only contains a total of 180 pieces, which will probably just take a good hour or so to build.
Unlike the previous 911 Turbo offered as a pair with a modern 911 RSR, this new kit offers the 930 as a standalone model. The upcoming Lego Porsche is also finished in white and is contrasted with black cladding instead of the previously offered lime green unit.
Just like most of their recent kits, Lego got the design of the ‘74 911 Turbo spot on. As a turbo model, Lego gave the Porsche its signature wide fender arches, whale tail wing, and ‘turbo’ script at the rear. There’s even Porsche’s signature red taillight strip at the rear. Other bits included in the kit includes a miniature figure and three cones.
The 911 Turbo Speed Champions kit will officially go on sale August 1, 2019.
