Inside, seven passengers are pampered with dual zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control, steering wheel radio and climate controls and power-adjustable pedals. An audiophile-grade AM/FM stereo with 6-disc changer is standard equipment. Standard on the Explorer is a moon roof which doubles as a mood-enhancing device.
The Ford Explorer's engine is likewise a number-filled story. The 4.0 liter SOHC V6 delivers 210 Hp and 344 Nm of torque, and is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. Power towing capability is also standard, as the Explorer comes with Class II towing capabilities of up to 3,400 lbs.
