What will the 2021 Nissan Navara look like in VE, VL and Pro-4X?

We're just days away before Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) officially launches the 2021 Navara. We already know all the variants that the automaker will be revealing. These include the EL, VE, VL, and the new top-of-the-line Pro-4X.

But what will each variant look like in the metal? Wonder no more, as we recently received images of all the versions of the 2021 Navara.

Let's start with the VE, a new designation for the Navara. It serves as the mid-grade variant and is distinguished from the EL with its quad LED headlights, LED DRLs, LED foglights, and LED taillights. This particular pick-up also comes with body-colored side mirrors, chrome door handles, and side steps for easier ingress/egress.

Next up is the VL grade. Like the VE, it comes with familiar styling cues such as the distinct headlights, side steps, LED taillights, and LED DRLs. Exclusive only to the VL are the 18-inch alloy wheels, silver roof rails, and chrome door handles with buttons for the smart keyfob.

Last but definitely not least is the new Pro-4X. This new range-topping version of the Navara trades chrome for black and gray accents on the grille, side mirrors, door handles, roof rails, and even the badge on the grille. Providing a stark contrast against the dark accents is the orange contrast paint that Nissan applied on the logos, front skid plate, and fender trim. The wheels have been downsized to 17-inches, but they are wrapped in Yokohama A/T tires instead of H/T rubber.

Some are probably wondering: where are the images of the base model EL? Unfortunately, we have yet to get the photos of the EL. But according to Nissan, the EL will come with a similarly large chrome grille, and the new-style headlights. The EL will only have halogen headlights, however, and will not have LED daytime running lights (DRLs), foglights, and step boards. Amongst the Navara lineup, the EL will be the sole model to have 17-inch steel wheels instead of alloys, black side mirrors, and unpainted door handles.

Despite having varied looks, all variants of the 2021 Navara will come with six airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, stability control, trailer stability assist, active brake limited slip, hill-start assist, speed-sensing door locks, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

Under the hood, the 2.5-liter YD25DDTi has been carried over for the 2021 Navara. On the EL M/T and VE M/T versions, the engine makes 163 PS at 3600 rpm, along with 403 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. Meanwhile, the engine on the VE A/T, VE 4x4 A/T, VL 4x2 A/T, VL 4x4 A/T, and the Pro-4X all put out 190 PS at 3600 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm.

Transmission options for the Navara include a six-speed manual and a seven-speed automatic. 4x4 models benefit from a shift-on-the-fly 4WD system that can be set to 2H (2WD High), 4H (4WD High), and 4L (4WD Low). 4x4 models also come with a rear locking differential.

Official prices remain a mystery. But with the official launch happening this Sunday, March 21, 2021, all will be revealed very soon.
