The most powerful Chevrolet Camaro you can buy from the dealership today is the ZL1 (in the U.S. at least), which features a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that produces 650 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. But if that still isn’t enough power for you, then Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) may just what you want. Called the 2020 Yenko/SC Camaro, it has 1,000 horsepower and has a cool new look to match.
Similar to the Yenko Corvette they built in the past, the 2020 Yenko Camaro is built exclusively by SVE and features subtle styling upgrades together with huge power mods. In order to get the Yenko Camaro to produce 1,000 horsepower, the 6.2-liter LT1 V8 has been stroked to displace 6.8-liters and fitted with a big supercharger. Forged crankshaft and pistons, as well as an upgraded fuel system help ensure the engine is capable of handling the added power.
Based on a Camaro in 1LE trim, the Yenko comes standard with Magnetic Ride Control and an electronic limited-slip differential. SVE has tuned the suspension with bespoke bushings and a new stabilizer bar to improve handling. New 20-inch Torq Thrust wheels wrapped in grippy Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, give the Camaro a retro appeal and better traction.
Aside from the carbon fiber hood and carbon fiber lip, the exterior doesn’t really change much from the standard Camaro SS 1LE’s design. Hood stripes and “Yenko/SC” graphics ensure people on the street know that it is not your regular run-of-the-mill Camaro.
SVE says only 50 examples of the 2020 Yenko/SC Camaro will be built. For those wondering, a 2020 Yenko/SC Camaro can be yours for just USD 69,000 (Php 3.5 million). By the way, that doesn’t include the donor Camaro SS 1LE just yet. I suppose 1,000 horsepower doesn’t come cheap.
Thanks to 1,000 HP upgrade, this Yenko Camaro can now beat a Shelby Mustang GT 500 and maybe even the Hellcat Demon.
