Tired of the same old racing games on your mobile phone? Are shooter games not to your liking as of late? Why not try out Acura's 'Beat That' racing game?
You read right, Honda's luxury marque recently released a video game that allows players to take control of classic and modern Acuras on various tracks, and the graphics and gameplay look like that arcade classic OutRun.
Free to play on either mobile phones or on the desktop, Beat That allows players to race to the finish line with six unique Acura vehicles spread across six levels.
Depending on the track you've chosen, each one will represent an iconic era of gaming. Take for example Level 1 wherein you'll get to drive a 1991 Acura NSX on an 8-bit beach road. As you progress through each level, the graphics and audio become more modern, with the last level allowing you to drive the Acura Type S Concept on a futuristic-looking tunnel.
Apart from the NSX 1991 and the Type S Concept, Beat That also features the 1998 Integra Type R, 2020 RDX A-Spec, ARX-05 Daytona Prototype race car, as well as the 2020 NSX.
However, you can only move on to the next level once you beat the previous level's lap time. Once a player is able to finish a lap, they can challenge their friends or other players to “beat that” level. What's more is that players can even share their progress on social media in order to show off their skills in the game.
