We're already used to seeing supercars on the streets of the Philippines. Hang out around Bonifacio Global City or Alabang on a Sunday morning, and you're bound to see a few Ferraris, Porsches, and Lamborghinis driving around. It's the same story of these cars being sold online. However, hypercars are a different story altogether.
While there are a few hidden gems in the country, chances are these were private imports. More importantly, you don't see ads of a LaFerrari or a McLaren Senna on Facebook Marketplace or anywhere for that matter. So we were surprised to see a Bugatti Chiron being listed on sale publicly on Facebook by an importer.
Luxury Cars Manila recently posted on their Facebook page a Bugatti Chiron for sale. Hold your horses, though. The car isn't in the Philippines (yet) by the looks of the listing; it does say “available for indent order only”. The photos provided by the importer show the Chiron finished in white with black accents, black wheels, and red brake calipers. Meanwhile, the interior is finished in red leather. It doesn't appear to be a US model either as it lacks the fender reflectors.
For references, the Bugatti Chiron debuted at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show as the Veyron's successor. It uses an 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine that produces 1,500 horsepower and 1,600 Nm torque. A 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox then sends power to all four wheels. The Chiron has an electronically limited top speed of 420 km/h, but it can still accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds, to 200 km/h in 6.1 seconds, and 300 km/h in only 13.1 seconds. Given enough open road, it can even hit 400 km/h in 32.6 seconds.
There's no price listed for the Bugatti Chiron, and we're not surprised. But to give you an idea, the Chiron retailed for around USD 3 million or roughly PHP 150 million when it was launched. Mind you, that price might have gone up already. At the same time, that sticker price doesn't include tax and all other fees you'll have to pay to bring it in.
If you're seriously considering buying the French hypercar, why not contact Luxury Cars Manila and possibly the first Chiron owner in the country.
