Aside from launching its smallest vehicle to date, Suzuki Philippines has also revealed an all-new (sort of) seven-seater. This is the 2020 Suzuki XL7, and it's ready to take on the likes of the Toyota Rush, Mitsubishi Xpander Cross, and the Honda BR-V.

Longer, wider, and taller than the Ertiga, the XL7 offers the same practicality and spaciousness as the MPV, albeit in an SUV-style package. Immediately seen on the XL7 are its distinct LED headlights, blacked-out front grill with chrome accent, and the faux skid plate on the front and rear bumpers. Highlighting the XL7's more rugged appearance are the black body cladding, 16-inch polished alloy wheels, and the black tailgate panel.

In terms of size, the XL7 measures 4450mm long, 1775mm wide, and 1710mm tall. It also has a 2740mm wheelbase, and a generous ground clearance of 200mm, 20mm more than the Ertiga.

Hopping inside the XL7, an all-black interior with subtle touches of faux silver and satin chrome accents greet the occupants. Fabric seats are fitted as standard although the three-spoke steering wheel with media controls is wrapped in leather. Meanwhile, the dashboard and door panels feature a carbon fiber-like patterned material for a fancier finish.

Other available amenities present inside the XL7 include 12V power sockets across all rows of seats, various cupholders/bottle holders, as well as door pockets for storing personal items. Need to carry plenty of luggage? Despite having the third-row seats up, Suzuki claims the XL7 can carry 153 liters worth of cargo.

It even has a collapsible floor where one can store smaller items with ease. Fold the third-row seats and luggage capacity increases to 550 liters. When both the second and third-row seats are folded, the XL7 is capable of lugging 803 liters worth luggage. One can even have cargo placed on the roof via the functional roof rails.

Standing front and center on the dashboard is a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It supports AM/FM radio, USB, Aux, Bluetooth, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Below it sits the automatic climate control complete with dials and physical buttons.

Under the hood, the XL7 is powered by the same 1.5-liter K15B four-cylinder engine derived from the Ertiga. It produces 103 PS at 6000 rpm with 138 Nm of torque and is connected to a four-speed automatic transmission.
