You could say that midsize sedans cater towards the executives or a more mature audience. But who says you can't inject a bit of spice in them? Toyota has done exactly that by giving the Camry the TRD Sportivo look.
With the body kit, the 2019 Camry gets a sportier, more dynamic look which complements its swoopy, dramatic redesign. Starting at the front, the body-colored grill is replaced by a gloss black trim piece. A bolder look comes courtesy of a front chin, which is extended far away from the vehicle's body and makes it appear to sit lower to the ground. A pair of lower skirts flank the sides of the mid-sized sedan, and it even gets a gloss black strip for contrast.
Meanwhile at the back, it gets a rather aggressive makeover. While some would argue that spoilers are more common options on a smaller car, the all-new Camry Sportive gets quite a substantial one. The trunk lip tail spoiler is long, and like the front chin, significantly extends away from the car's body. It also gets a new exhaust housing in order to accommodate the rear bumper kit. The TRD Sportivo package is then capped off by a set of unique contrast color wheels with low-profile tires.
By the looks of it, the Sportivo kit can be installed in any Camry variant. In the case of the display model in Bangkok, it's on the entry-level 2.0 G variant. That particular model grade isn't likely to be offered in the Philippines. To recap, the Thai-spec Camry has three variants, namely the aforementioned 2.0G, 2.5G, and the hybridized 2.5HV.
Meanwhile in the Philippines, it won't be long until we get the all-new Camry. Expect it to arrive here by the first half of December although final specifications for the local market have yet to be determined. It is also unknown if the local Camry will be available with hybrid power.
