The chances of us owning a McLaren Senna GTR is slim to none. First of all, there are only 75 built globally, and almost all have owners by now. Not to mention the multi-million pesos price tag it came with, assuming you had the opportunity to buy one. Fortunately, there's another way to own one, and it won't cost an arm and a leg. The only downside is that it's small, and we'll have to assemble it ourselves as a Lego kit.
Meet the newest addition to Lego's Technic line – the McLaren Senna GTR. The kit itself is comprised of 830-pieces, making it quite a handful to build. However, it does replicate the track-only McLaren quite well, featuring the pointed front, roof scoop, and even a massive rear wing. It also shares the same black-blue-silver livery used by the launch model.
As it is part of the Technic line, it is quite detailed. More importantly, some bits and features of the Lego kit work just like the real thing. The dihedral doors on the Lego kit work the same as the track-only McLaren. You can also watch the pistons of the replica twin-turbo V8 move about as well. Unlike the real Senna GTR, this one is technically street legal. That means you can bring the Lego Senna GTR, that's if you're brave enough to carry hundreds of pieces around.
As much as we want to have this wrapped under the Christmas tree, unfortunately, it won't make it for the holidays. The Lego Senna GTR is ready to hit shelves around the world in January 2021, after the season of giving. Fortunately, you can use the money your parents, friends, or relative gave you during Christmas to buy it.
The kit will retail for about $49.99 or roughly PhP 2,413, according to the official Lego website. It will still be a limited edition model, but this won't be as hard to buy as the real McLaren Senna GTR.
