Who doesn't like an all-black SUV? While some may find it intimidating, most will agree that it certainly looks cool, not to mention classy to be seen driving / riding one. Land Rover appears to agree about that notion as the Coventry-based brand recently released a special edition model that is finished in the dark hue.

Called the Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic Black, the limited-run model features an enhanced range of standard features, and is limited to only 500 units.

Based on the D180 R-Dynamic SE (which Land Rover claims is the best-selling model of the Velar), the R-Dynamic Black comes with the Black Exterior Pack, 21-inch Gloss Black alloy wheels, privacy glass, and a fixed panoramic glass roof. In addition, the badging on the grill, as well as the lettering on the hood are all finished in black to further emphasize the Velar's special dark finish.

Apart from the exterior, the Velar R-Dynamic Black also received a cool interior makeover. Ebony Perforated Grain Leather blankets the entire cabin of the SUV and is complemented by an Ebony Morzine Headlining, further giving the limitd edition Range Rover Velar a more sophisticated look.

Powering the R-Dynamic Black is a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo-diesel which produces 180 PS at 4000 rpm along with 430 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission with manual select.

“The Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic Black builds on Velar’s sophisticated design package enhancing it for a customer who is looking for an element of differentiation. We look forward to delivering the first limited editions in early 2020,” said Rawdon Glover, JLR UK Managing Director.

Will it be available in the Philippines? Sadly there is a very low chance as all of the 500 units are destined only for the UK market. But should not all of the 500 R-Dynamic Black be sold, perhaps Land Rover can bring several examples over here.
