Over the years, car owners around the world have wrapped their vehicles in various colors and schemes. From chrome wraps, rainbow wraps, Christmas gift wraps, to the more common matte wraps, we have seen it all. But the owner of this Nissan 350Z (Fairlady Z in Japan) has done something a lot different. In fact, he’s taken the wrap to a whole new playing field…well, a grassy playing field that is.
Nobuya Ushio recently posted a photo of his 350Z wrapped in fake grass or astroturf as you may know it. If you’re wondering why, would he do such a thing? We ask you back, why not? But more importantly, we assume it has something to do with his profession. According to his post on Z Car Club Association (ZCCA), he apparently works as a gardener in Japan. This would probably explain why he has an excess of astroturf which he just slapped onto the car.
Nearly all panels of the 350Z have been covered in the fake grass material. Well, that is apart from the windshield, side mirrors, headlights, and intake. He did leave a part of the aftermarket fender untouched to show off the Z logo. Apart from the wheels, wing, fenders, and fake grass, Nobu’s Z looks very much unmodified. Either that or the grass wrap is hiding most of the aftermarket bits underneath. With that in mind, astroturf could be good camouflage for prototypes and test vehicles.
Do you think Nobu’s wrap is pure is genius or pure lunacy? Whatever you may think, it is definitely unique. It’s not like the job was sloppy either as the fit and finish of the astroturf is made quite well. We wonder if anyone can top a crazier wrap than this.
