From just selling 45 units, Chery Auto PH increases sales numbers to 118 units last July
The COVID-19 pandemic and community quarantine measures may have temporarily halted commerce and sales, but some companies were able to bounce back amid the new normal the country is experiencing.
One of them is Chery Auto Philippines who was able to increase its sales numbers by a significant margin. From just selling 45 units last June, the automaker was able to sell 118 units in July - a 162% increase.
“I believe we are offering the right products and services at the right time. People need safe but affordable mobility and we have the right mix of value-packed models with luxury, comfort, and safety features to suit any requirement or budget,” said Rommel Sytin, president of Chery Auto Philippines.
Serving as the best-selling crossover is the Tiggo 2. It’s now available in limited a two-tone color with a black roof and black pillars. Despite being the entry-level offering, it comes with features like touchscreen infotainment, leather-fabric seats, and Eco/Sport driving modes. It’s powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and is available either as a manual for PhP 695,000 or as an automatic for PhP 770,000.
Also raking in sales for Chery is the Tiggo 5x. It’s slightly bigger than the Tiggo 2 but offers more in terms of standard features and amenities. In the top-of-the-line Luxury trim, this crossover comes with a digital instrument panel, a power moonroof, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, electronic parking brake, reverse camera, and even an auto brake hold function. Like the Tiggo 2, it’s powered by a 1.5-liter inline-four and can come with a manual or CVT. Its price range spans from PhP 818,000 to PhP 950,000.
Serving as perhaps the sportiest crossover in Chery’s lineup is the Tiggo 7. It’s powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 145 PS along with 210 Nm of torque. Instead of a CVT, the Tiggo 7 has a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The Tiggo 7 retails for PhP 1,195,000.
At the top of the range is the Tiggo 8 which comes chock-full of amenities and in-car features. Like the Tiggo 7, it gets a 1.5-liter turbo inline-four and a dual-clutch gearbox. Unlike the rest of the Tiggo range, the Tiggo 8 is the only come with seven seats. The seven-seater Tiggo 8 starts at PhP 1,280,000 while the fully-loaded version sells for PhP 1,340,000.
