SCTEX will soon have additional toll lanes, interchanges for faster transactions

Paying your toll fees along SCTEX will soon be faster and less of a hassle. In its commitment to further improve customer service, the NLEX Corporation recently announced that they will be building 20 additional lanes in strategically located SCTEX toll plazas.

The toll plaza capacity expansion project is set to begin in July 2019 and end in November in the same year. When finished, the new toll lanes will cover the following: Clark North, Clark South, San Miguel, Bamban, and Tarlac toll plazas.

One new toll lane will be made at the Clark North entry/exit points and at Clark South B exit. Meanwhile, two new lanes will be built at Clark South A exit and Tarlac entry/exit points to serve the growing number of motorists that use the expressway.

Apart from building additional toll lanes, NLEX Corporation will also be converting San Miguel (Luisita) into a full interchange. With it, the San Miguel interchange will be more accessible to motorists as it will now have complete entry and exit points from both northbound and southbound directions. In addition, they will also be constructing two lanes each at San Miguel northbound entry and southbound exit points.

Finally, NLEX Corporation will also be constructing the soon-to-open Bamban Interchange. It will have three entry and exit lanes in both directions and it will become the direct connection to New Clark City, the main venue for this year's Southeast Asian Games.

“The additional toll lanes will help improve SCTEX’s connectivity in its areas, particularly in Clark, which is being positioned as Asia’s next aerotropolis and investment center,” said Luigi Bautista, president and general manager of NLEX Corporation.

When all is completed, the new lanes (and new toll plazas) aim to hasten toll transactions even during peak hours and holidays.
