With the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show nearing, Mitsubishi teases the public with silhouettes of the Grand Cruiser, Cross Runner and Active Runabout concepts; 3 upcoming models that will be launched at the show, carrying the design direction for the Mitsubishi brand.
The models lined up for the launch will highlight Mitsubishi’s innovative engineering, advanced technology, and other concepts that involve environmental responsibility, performance, and safety.
The three models geared for Tokyo are the following:
Mitsubishi Concept Grand Cruiser-PHEV
The Grand Cruiser full-size SUV that will use a high output plug-in hybrid electric vehicle system (PHEV). It is also equipped with the super all wheel control (S-AWC) that will provide improved handling and stability. Other features include a next-generation preventive safety technology and driver support technology through wireless connectivity.
The GC-PHEV is likely to be a preview of the upcoming Pajero/Shogun SUV.
Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV
A compact SUV with a lightweight and efficient PHEV system. It will resemble the handling and styling of a sport coupe.
Mitsubishi Concept Active Runabout
The Active Runabout is a compact MPV that performs like an SUV without sacrificing the practicality of an MPV. The Concept AR will reportedly have the latest fuel efficiency technologies such as a smaller direct-injection turbocharged engine.
Could these models be replacing the Pajero and other models in the near future? We have to stay put for the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show.
