Thanks to the vast number of aftermarket companies creating parts and bodykits, Lexus UX owners now have plenty of choices on how to modify their crossovers. From factory TRD to Artisan Spirits, the choices are almost endless. Now, Toyota's other factory-supported tuner – Tom's Racing – has tried their hands on modifying the popular small crossover.
More commonly and simply known as Tom's, the company has just revealed its new lineup of parts for the UX 200 and 250h - and it looks good. Unlike Tom's offerings for other models which includes performance upgrades, the kit for the UX is strictly aesthetic only. In fact, they will not even be coming out with chassis braces or performance dampers to "rival" those offered by TRD.
The Tom's kit for the Lexus UX is composed of five different parts: a front spoiler, a front bumper garnish, rear under spoiler, rear bumper garnish and a side skirt. When it comes to design, the Tom's kit is a lot more subtle compared to that of TRD and those offered by other aftermarket companies. The biggest change would be at the rear end with the UX now featuring exhaust tips similarly styled to the RC F and GS F. Curiously, the kit shown by Tom's is only fitted to the F-Sport variant on the UX. That said, it is uncertain whether the kit will fit the non F-sport variant.
As for price, the complete Tom's body kit (not including the front and rear garnishes) already costs Php 90,000 (Yen 189,000) unpainted. But, if you want it painted to match your vehicle color from the factory, it costs Php 104,000 (Yen 219,000). Meanwhile, the extra front and rear bumper garnish will set you back an additional Php 12,000 (Yen 25,000) and Php 10,000 (Yen 23,000), respectively. While there are no wheels exclusive to the kit, Tom's does offer a number of differently styled wheels which may suit your taste.
Much like the TRD kit, the Tom's kit will be exclusively offered in Japan and will be available mid-July.
