TOM's Racing Lexus IS F Sport is both show and go

What do you think of the Tom's Racing IS?

The current generation Lexus IS has been on the market for well over a year now. With that, more and more aftermarket companies have begun offering parts for the sedan. Toyota’s in-house tuners, TRD and Modellista, even have a few parts available for the IS. However, most of them consist of dress-up parts.

But what if you want to improve the performance of the IS? There is one other Toyota/Lexus tuner that’s got you covered – Tom’s Racing.

Tom’s Racing recently revealed the complete line of parts available for the current IS, specifically the F Sport variant. The kit itself looks tame compared to others on the market. It consists of a front splitter, side skirts, and a rear diffuser. In addition, the tuner also offers a trunk lid spoiler and a set of lightweight 19-inch aluminum wheels.

But Tom’s Racing didn’t just stop with the exterior aero parts and wheels. To improve the handling of the IS, the tuner offers a complete coilover suspension kit together with front and rear strut bars. Several chassis and suspension braces are also available, which enhances both the ride and the handling.

For more power, a full Tom’s Barrel exhaust is available for the IS. According to the tuner, the exhaust, when paired with the Tom’s Power Box, adds an extra 21 PS. Apart from added power, the exhaust looks good too; it reminds us of the ones found on the RC F and GS F.

The complete Tom’s Racing parts list for the Lexus IS is scheduled to go on sale this month. Don’t expect them to be cheap, though. For reference, the suspension kit alone already retails for JPY 363,000 or roughly PHP 162,050. Meanwhile, the rest of the parts combined will set you back almost JPY 1,000,000 or PHP 446,000. Mind you, that doesn’t include shipping yet. But at least Tom’s parts for the IS aren’t all show.
