After tallying the sales numbers of CAMPI and AVID, the total industry registers double digit growth year to date.
From January to November 2013, the Philippine automotive industry has clocked in at 191,657 units sold as per the combined reports of the Chamber of Automobile Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), and the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (AVID).
Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation leads the way in 1st with 68,218 units sold YTD (+16.5%) as of November, followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation in 2nd at 38,854 units sold YTD (+23.1%).
Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. maintains their strong position in 3rd place with 19,617 units YTD (-4.3%), while Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. has a slim lead in 4th with 12,122 units YTD over 5th placer Ford Motor Company Philippines' tally of 12,063 units YTD.
Of note are strong YTD growth percentages for PGA Cars [Porsche, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini] at 133.1% (338 units YTD), Motor Image Pilipinas [Subaru] at 67.1% (2,634 units YTD), Ford Motor Company Philippines at 48.9% (12,063 units YTD), The Covenant Car Company, Inc. [Chevrolet] at 48.2% (4,424 units YTD) and Berjaya Auto Philippines [Mazda] at 47.6% (2117 units YTD).
CAMPI is expecting double digit growth next year.
