This year, the Corolla celebrates its 40th anniversary on the road and 30 million satisfied customers all over the world prove its timeless style. To celebrate this momentous milestone in its history, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) introduces the improved Corolla Altis. This Altis variant offers new technical features such as HID head lamps, Multi-Information Display (MID), a new optitron meter design, multifunction steering wheel switch, an integrated 2-DIN, six in-dash CD player, tuner and MP3 Player audio system, and an integrated TVSS key.

The Corolla Altis is the embodiment of quality, durability and reliability that is distinctly Toyota. With its fuel-efficient VVT-i engine, a classic exterior design, a luxurious interior and backed by an excellent sales and parts support, the Altis can never go out of style. With each passing year, and with every Corolla Altis sold anywhere in the world, the Corolla heritage is raised a notch higher.

The Corolla Altis was first introduced in the Philippine Market in July 2001. Since then, the Altis has been the leader in the small-hi passenger car segment. Despite the industry-wide decrease in compact passenger car sales, the Altis remains relatively strong as evidenced in its increasing market share, which averages 34.6 percent monthly, and a year-to-date share of 37.5 percent. Aside from sales figures, the Corolla Altis has likewise passed the JD Power Initial Quality Study (IQS) for third year in a row. For more than five years, the Corolla Altis has captured a market that prioritizes more important things in life such as a comfortable family vehicle, or a sedan that states confidence. The Corolla Altis has proven to be a practical and reasonable choice, while meeting the customers' standards for functionality.

The 40th Anniversary Corolla Altis is a sight to behold, even on the outside. Exterior improvements include a change in the front grille vertical chrome accented lines to exude a luxurious and elegant look. A bolder and wider rear garnish with chrome insert extends the luxurious feel to the rear. High intensity discharge (HID) headlamps have also been adopted for clearer lighting, and added safety with its manual leveling system to provide suitable lighting at a better angle. Now, Corolla Altis drivers can enjoy night-driving illumination with twice the brightness, thrice the durability and 30 percent lower power consumption. Front fog lamps and LED high mount stop lamps have also been incorporated for increased safety.

For patrons of comfort, the 40th Anniversary Corolla Altis offers a new set of interior features to give its passengers a royal treatment. It starts with a luxurious and ergonomically designed dashboard for a more lavish feel, while increasing driving comfort and convenience. A multi-information display (MID) function include estimated time of arrival, current fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, cruising range, average speed, and open doors. State-of-the-art optitron meters, adapted from Japan's Altis models, come with a Rheostat function to adjust brightness for better visibility. A cleverly fabricated steering wheel contains multifunction switches for the head unit and the MID. Now, drivers are given more control without shifting attention and removing hands from the steering wheel.
The driver's seat incorporates an eight-way power adjust and rear passengers get more protection with rear seat sunshade. And for an added touch of class, the Altis G and E variants now adopt an integrated design audio system. A 2-DIN in-dash six-CD player, tuner and MP3 head unit are available for the 1.8G variant, and a single in-dash CD player, tuner and MP3 head unit is adopted for the 1.6G and E Variants. Safety and convenience have been enhanced with the integrated-design TVSS key for the G and E Variants.
