Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) just recently held Toyota Classics last November 5, 2008 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). This is the 19th tour since the car manufacturer's global headquarters, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), first began in 1990.

This year, Toyota Classics featured the world-renowned Vienna Operatta Orchestra, under the baton of Siegrfried Andraschek, with tenor Michael Suttner and soprano Izabela Labuda. Filipino vocalist, Julia Duncan, also joined the orchestra performance.

The main objective of Toyota Classics is to promote continuous development in the scene of art and culture in Asia aside from this, the project is also a means for Toyota to contribute to society through donating to various foundations.

The total sum of P1,000,000 donated to its beneficiaries were all derived from the funds garnered from the classical concert. The Environmental Studies Institute of Miriam College received P300,000, Mariano Marcos State University received P300,000, and Philippine Red Cross received P400,000. During the concert proper, representatives from the three institutions stepped up on stage to acknowledge the reception of the donation.

As Toyota selected the beneficiaries, the required qualities were vital selfless contributors to society and leaders in service and the industry.

The Environmental Studies Institute (ESI) of Miriram College is an active player in the Philippine environmental movement, committed to help develop an ecologically sound environment, equitable economic growth, and people empowerment as pillars of sustainable development.

The Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) aims to contribute to better quality of life and ecological balance through quality instruction, productivity, client-oriented research and extension programs and projects making it a valuable contributor in education in the northern region.

Lastly, the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) is the primary humanitarian organization in the country, offering a wide-array of humanitarian services ranging from preventive medicine to therapeutic counseling to youth leadership development.

Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP), together with its social and humanitarian arm, Toyota Motor Philippines Foundation (TMPF), fulfills a part of its corporate social responsibility in Filipino life in sharing its success to the beneficiaries. As a leader of the automotive industry, TMP recognizes its role to give back to society.
