If you've been waiting on your brand new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado to arrive in the Philippines, you'll have to wait for its arrival a little while longer. This comes after the factory that builds the Land Cruiser Prado and other Lexus vehicles temporarily stopped building cars.

In a report by Automotive News, the Toyota Tahara factory, which is based in Aichi Prefecture, will pause production from August 3 until August 7, 2026. Supply chain disruptions caused a temporary pause in production following the recent Kumamoto earthquake on July 28, 2026.

With the temporary pause in effect, customers who have been waiting for their Land Cruiser Prado to arrive will have to wait longer. In addition, those who ordered Lexus vehicles like the GX, LS, IS, and LM will likewise have to wait for an extended period of time.

While the Tahara factory was not directly affected by the earthquake, other factories that supply parts to Toyota factories were affected, causing the aforementioned supply chain disruption. In fact, Toyota's Miyata factory, which produces the Lexus ES, UX, RX, and NX, also had to temporarily pause production due to supply chain and logistics problems that were caused by the recent earthquake.

In case you're still waiting for your Toyota or Lexus unit to arrive, better ask the dealership or your preferred sales agent regarding the delivery status of your vehicle.
