Record breaking sales figure
In the history of the Philippine automotive industry, no other manufacturer/distributor has broken the 6,000 unit barrier until now. Based on the most recent CAMPI report, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) posted record breaking sales for the month of July. The manufacturer registered total sales of 6, 258 units, its highest total in 24 years of operations.
During this record breaking run, Toyota’s passenger car line up continues to have a stellar performance. Toyota garnered 49.8% of the passenger car segment with a total of 2,155 units sold. The company’s locally manufactured vehicle, the Toyota Vios played a big role in this success as it recorded its highest monthly total of 1,654 units.
In the commercial vehicle segment, Toyota remains on top with total sales of 4,103 units grabbing 40% of the market. The locally manufactured Innova model continues to be the best selling multi-purpose vehicle in the country. In addition to this, Toyota’s Fortuner, Avanza and Hilux models continue to post strong figures.
TMP President Mr. Michinobu Sugata stated “Since TMP started its operations in 1988, it has been our sincere wish to provide Filipino customers with best quality and affordable products as well as unmatched customer service. During this journey, we at TMP acknowledge that none of these would be possible without the trust and support of our customers. I would like thank all our loyal patrons for everything. The achievement of this record breaking sales milestone is a testament to their confidence in the brand."
TMP, through Mr. Sugata, has announced that they will be donating a total of 1 million Pesos to the province of Laguna and Sta. Rosa to support those who have been affected by the recent calamity.
