Toyota PH adds more features for 2022 Hilux pick-up

The 2022 Hilux is more loaded and more expensive

It seems the Fortuner won't be getting more features and tech for the 2022 model year. Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has quietly updated the Hilux range for 2022 as well, and with it come several adjustments in prices.

Before you ask, this isn't an exterior facelift or minor model change. The Hilux still looks the same as the model launched by TMP last year, only this time it's more “loaded” as nearly the entire Hilux range gets a few more features. Starting with the E, it now comes standard with a rear bumper, unlike the previous model that didn't have it.

The cabin remains unchanged, but the Hilux E now comes with a larger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Specific details weren't revealed, but it could be similar to the one in the Conquest.

As for the mid-spec Hilux G, it now comes with the same 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system as well. The automatic climate control system is now a dual-zone climate control system allowing for better adjustments for occupants. TMP also added a reverse camera to help drivers when parking the pick-up truck. Previously, the G only came with reverse sensors.

The 2022 Hilux Conquest has the biggest changes in the range. For starters, the hood now comes with dampers. Like the G, it also comes with a dual-zone climate control system. In addition, the rearview mirror has been upgraded to an electrochromic unit or “auto-dimming” as we commonly call it. In addition, it now comes with a panoramic view mirror, giving the driver a better look at their surroundings.

The upgrades on the 2022 Hilux range aren't free, though. With these added features, the prices of the Hilux range have gone up. For reference, the range-topping Hilux 2.8 Conquest 4x4 A/T now retails for PHP 1,875,000 (PHP 1,890,000 for Emotional Red) whereas it was previously PHP 1,830,000. Meanwhile, the Hilux 2.4 E 4x2 M/T now starts at PHP 1,135,000 compared to the previous SRP of PHP 1,113,000. Only the prices of the Hilux J and Fleet models remain unchanged.
