Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMPC) has recorded its highest ever monthly sales after reporting 10,163 units sold in October. TMPC claims that this is the first time any local car brand experienced such performance in terms of vehicle sales.

Toyota previously broke the 10,000 unit barrier in July 2014 by selling 10,123 units. The new record surpasses July sales by 40 units.

“The continued robust economy has given us the momentum to achieve this sales milestone. Toyota has also foreseen the market demand to be strong before the long holidays and took action by ensuring supply of vehicles to meet the requirements of the consumers during this period,” said TMPC President Michinobu Sugata.

On a year-to-date basis, TMPC has registered a growth of 41.92-percent as compared to the previous year selling a total of 86,794 units. TMPC remains on top in the passenger car segment with 35,163 units sold. On the other hand, TMPC's commercial vehicles yielded 51,629 units.

With this, Sugata added that the positive sales performance of the company were driven by the Vios and the Innova.

“Both the Toyota Vios and Innova continue to be the most important models in its line-up as this comprises close to 40-percent of TMPC’s sales,” Sugata said.
